Ramping Up

Well, we are still several weeks from heading off to Calama, but I wanted to get started with the blog. By now we have had our first conference call regarding the mission and I am starting to get pretty excited about the whole thing. My flight information came earlier this week and I am already starting to get "We'll miss you" from my wife and my son. I've never been away for 2 full weeks from either of them.

I have my passport ready to go and am scheduled for my immunization shots on Monday July 7th. Had a hard time finding someone to do it since my doctor wanted to send me to one of the places GOS says not to go to. I finally settled on the local county department of health. They are about 1/3 the cost of the other place so good call GOS!

As for everything else, I am pretty excited to be the Communications and Fundrasing Captain! How awesome is it to have a military title! I expect that everyone will address me as Cap'n. I have already spoken with a few folks about helping with the silent auction and will look to get a few others as well. I set up the fundraising page and (obviously) this blog, so I think everything is good for now.

Well, I will sign off as this is supposed to be about the mission experiences and not about my new position of authority (You must respect my a-thor-ah-tay!) . Thanks for reading.

Hope everything is going great by this time. All your mechanical problems are solved and you have overcome the delays and are back on schedule. I'm sure you will have a great time. Keep up the great work. We are proud of you all.

Hello Chile volunteers!
Is it hot enough for you? :)Or should I say, is it Chilly in Chile?
Shout outs to Dana Garvin- We miss you already, & "Communications Captain" Biff, blog often!
Have a blast, help tons of people to see, then come back and tell us all about it.

Anna LiVecci and Team Chile,
Embrace every opportunity to make connections with the people you serve, your team and the volunteers supporting you. Even if it is just a smile, you'll undoubtedly change someone else's life as well as your own. You have the ability to make many new friends and many more wonderful memories. This is part of the "mission magic" that you carry with you long after your mission is over.

Thank you for helping the world see- Know that there are lots of friends and family back at home who are very proud of you!
